Solvent Recovery Systems
SQG-2, SQG-5, SQG-10 and SQG-20
Safety Features
The SQG-2, SQG-5, SQG-10 and SQG-20 Solvent Recovery Systems have safety circuits based on INDUSTRIAL PLC CONTROL LOGIC and AEROSPACE DESIGN PRINCIPLES that are not found on any other Solvent Recovery System - even on substantially more expensive systems.
1. Motion Sensor
If the SQG-2, SQG-5, SQG-10 or SQG-20 is moved or jarred during operation, the system will
shut down automatically. This is an important feature in a busy work place.
If a worker accidentally moves the Solvent Recovery System away from the receiving
container, if the Solvent Recovery System is in a high vibration area, or if an earthquake
occurs during operation, the distillation unit will automatically shut down and wait for
an attendant to restart the system.
2. Lid Protection (Only found on WRDP
products)
The motion sensor switch also protects the Solvent Recovery System from operating while
the lid is open. This helps to prevent solvent vapors from escaping if the boiler
lid is opened during the distillation cycle. The system will automatically shut down
and wait for an attendant to restart the system.
3. Product Over Temperature Shutoff
This safety feature ensures that the solvent vapors will not come through the condenser in
an over temperature condition. If the cooling water reaches an unsafe temperature at
the condenser, the system will automatically shut down and wait for an attendant to
restart the system. Afterwards, the cooling water or room temperature problem must
be addressed.
4. Water Sensing Switch
This safety feature also ensures that the solvent vapors will not come through the
condenser in an over temperature condition. If the cooling water stops
circulating or the quantity of water decreases, the system will automatically shut down
and wait for an attendant to restart the system. Afterwards, the cooling water or
room temperature problem must be addressed.
5. Oil Over Temperature Sensor
This sensor ensures that the heat transfer oil does not exceed the design
temperature, and therefore protects the boiler from overheating. If this high
temperature switch is activated, the system will automatically shut down and wait to be
restarted.
6. Cycle Timer
This feature allows the operator to preset the amount of time for the distillation system
to operate. When the preset duration has expired the timer will automatically shut
down the system and wait for an attendant to refill and restart the system.
